Hello and welcome to my site! I’m Karin, and I love to celebrate people and life — and baking is my favorite way to do that. I was raised as an only child in an Italian and German household, where great food was central to our celebrations and gatherings, often topped off with fabulous desserts.
My passion for baking began at just 8 years old, while sitting at our kitchen table, browsing through my mother’s cookbooks as she baked cakes and cookies for the winter holidays. It was then that I realized that for her, baking was not a chore, but a way to express love for family and friends. Just like a song from the past can evoke happy memories, baking and its wonderful scents bring back similar feelings for me. Ever since those very early years, baking has fueled my desire to bring smiles and joy to others.
Some of you may recognize me from my previous positions as the general manager and head pastry chef at a popular local restaurant here in north-central Pennsylvania, where I currently reside. Beyond my roles in the food and hospitality industry, I also contribute to the community through my work in the medical field.
Family is very important to me. I’m married to Brian, my wonderful husband and talented graphic artist, who is incredibly supportive of my passion for baking. I am blessed with two amazing sons, Josh and Joel, a beautiful stepdaughter, Teagan, and a soon-to-be daughter-in-law, Madison — all of whom share my love for baking.
My baking has been on hold for the last year and a half following the passing of my best friend and father, Sal. Losing him has been quite difficult, but he always encouraged me to follow my passions, work hard to achieve my goals, and show kindness to everyone. So, I’M BACK, and excited to bake my heart and soul into everything I create!
